First day with the new brain...er, blog

Just a quick entry to announce my arrival on the scene.  I don't claim to be anyone worth reading, but I will endeavor to make as much sense as possible in this space as possible without waxing didactic. 

I like simple things. I revel in the small joys of life as well as marvel at the complex systems required for life to exist. 

I love to laugh and hearing others laugh. I don't mind being the butt of the joke so long as someone is at least smirking clearly...

I love reading, attacking books as a desert straggler would a water fountain.  Sometimes, it's for entertainment - an attempt at escape by plunging into the drama of someone else's life, someone else's problems, someone else's joys.  Other times, it's the hunt for knowledge.  I don't seek knowledge for power - at least not over others or at their expense.  My friends know that I will share any info I have without much prodding. 

Mostly my reading temporarily sates my unquenchable yearning to learn and grow and then to give.  I seek truth wherever I can.  I know it exists.  I have seen it and I continually long for it.  I try to help others find it as often as I can.

That's a blink at a snapshot of me.  For more tune in again.  Who knows what will come...
